Free Vista Antivirus from AVG

AVG Security Software

Here at Vista Antivirus we truly enjoyed reviewing the AVG Free Anti-Virus Edition software. Due in part, to the fact that this not only offers “On-Demand” viral protection but also allows for “Real-Time” protection for your PC.

Most of the changes for the newest edition “version 8″ and above have included many new features not seen in previous free offerings, including live protection from viruses and spyware by monitoring downloads from the internet and downloads via email while they’re downloading. This was where AVG’s free version had really lacked in the past, without protection from Real-Time threats your PC was not fully protected.

We also like the updates to the interface which make this a far more intuitive and less venturesome navigating experience. Other new features a include browser add-on that works with both Firefox and Internet Explorer this allows for better protection against Spyware by labeling sites that it considers safe with a bright green check mark next to them.

Perhaps the biggest advantage of using AVG is that this is not the system resource hog that both Norton AntiVirus and Mcafee are, those two programs can, at times, freeze all but the most robust PCs running, why? Simply put they’re packed full of a ton of bloatware.

Sure, they might be more feature rich with Spam protection and in their Security Suites offering Firewall protection but there are better alternatives than paying the high price to purchase only to require a prescription fee to keep your software updated. And, believe me, if you don’t keep them updated they’re almost as useless as the box they came in!

AVG currently gets are vote as a 4 1/2 Star AntiVirus!

You can download the latest version directly from their website, just click on the “Get It Now” button in the “Free Basic Protection” box. Click here to visit the AVG page.
